The Neverly Brothers

The Neverly Brothers: A Rock ‘n’ Roll Evolution – From Elvis to the Beatles!

Fasten your seatbelts for a guided musical tour through rock ‘n’ roll history! The Neverly Brothers play all your favorite Rock n’ Roll and Rhythm & Blues hits from the 1950s American pioneers to the 1964 British Invasion groups in an awe inspiring concert that will have you singing,
dancing and thoroughly entertained.

They are not an “oldies cover band,” nor are they a tribute act. They are a unique and exciting NATIONAL TOURING CONCERT THEATER HEADLINE retro-rock revue - in a league of their own…AND ABOVE ALL THEY ARE TRUE ENTERTAINERS!

Dressed in period-perfect matching suits from each era, and playing electrifying versions of all your favorites, these rockers have a look and a sound that will make you feel like you are witnessing rock history unfold before your very eyes and ears.

Their song sequence & selection, accompanied by narrative historical footnotes, will illustrate how the music and energy of the 1950s American Rockabilly, Rock n’ Roll & Rhythm & Blues pioneers set the stage for and influenced the adventurous young bands of the 1964 British Invasion movement.

Their repertoire consists of show-stopping renditions of early hits by Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Dave Clark Five and many other artists who shaped rock n' roll from 1955 through 1965.

This is truly a one-of-a kind retro rock n’ roll MAGICAL HISTORY TOUR!

Formed: June 2003 Home base: Chicago, Illinois

About the Band members:

*Kevin Giragosian – vocals, guitar, harmonica - Kevin has been a prominent figure on the Chicago live music circuit for over 20 years. His original recordings, with his former power-pop band THE WOMBATS, have been aired on various Chicago area commercial and college radio stations including WXRT and Q101. His love of vocal harmony, early-American rockabilly artists and British Invasion bands brought him to create this unique and powerful musical act. As a vocalist he is extremely versatile and equally effective singing either lead or backing harmony. His signature “electrified” acoustic guitar sound he developed for the act has also become a highlight and integral part of their sound. In addition to being a talented vocalist and guitarist, on stage Kevin fronts the band - assuming the role as the “virtual tour director.” By sprinkling the show with insightful bits of music trivia and history between songs, he adds more meaning and relevance to the music - giving concerts goers a new-found appreciation for songs and artists they’ve long been familiar with. These narrative footnotes add yet another unique facet to their one of a kind act. Kevin’s energy, showmanship, personality, strong vocals & aggressive guitar playing make him one of the most engaging and entertaining front men on the live circuit today - at the helm of one of the most potent and talented true rock n’ roll bands around.

*Kegham Giragosian – drums, vocals - Keg started his musical career in the early 1990s as the drummer and harmony vocalist for brother Kevin’s former band The Wombats. As the drummer for The Neverly Brothers, he has developed his own unique, energetic and visually entertaining playing style. He stands, not sits, behind a minimalist drum kit - consisting of only a bass drum and a snare drum – and swings his arms in windmill circles beating the snare drum with brushes - not sticks. Although it may look unorthodox, he lays down a solid beat and driving rhythm more powerful than most drummers using conventional 4 and 5 piece kits. Keg is also a strong vocalist who sings lead on a number of songs. But his true vocal assets lie in his vocal harmonies and engaging counter melodies. When Kevin & Kegham sing those sweet two-part vocal harmonies, a la The Everly Brothers or John Lennon & Paul McCartney, you’ll find yourself saying: “Only brothers could harmonize like that!” His intuitive vocal sensibilities and unique and animated drumming style make Keg an integral part of the signature “Neverly” look and sound.

*Craig Gigstad – vocals, Upright Bass Fiddle - Craig has been a veteran of the Chicago music scene for over 20 years – touring and performing with a variety of local acts and national recording artists. He is equally versatile as a vocalist and an instrumentalist and, like his “Neverly brethren,” he is a true entertainer. Craig sings his share of backing vocal harmony but truly shines when spotlighting his robust lead vocals on barnburners such as Jerry Lee Lewis “Great balls of fire.” Augmenting his vocal talent is his powerful and exciting bass playing. Whether riding the bass like a wild stallion or slapping out a solid rockabilly groove, he maintains a steady pulse that rattles the rafters and keeps audiences alternately tapping their toes and stomping their feet. Together with Keg’s solid drumming and Kevin’s muscular rhythm guitar, Craig’s bass playing adds to what some fans have described as “pound for pound the most formidable rhythm section on the planet.” His powerful upright bass playing, his vocal talents and his stage presence give Craig the distinction of rounding out that unmistakable “Neverly” look and sound.
